Subject pronoun "on"

In English, the words people, we, one or they are used to convey the idea of an indefinite  subject. In French, the indefinite pronoun "on" is used, always with the third person singular of the verb.

Ici, on parle français = One speaks French here/ People speak French here/ We speak French here/ They speak French here.

On is also used frequently in informal French instead of nous.

Nous parlons français = On parle français.
